On November 3, 2025, at 10:37 a.m., in Hall 6, a forklift operator, while turning off the main aisle, failed to maintain proper awareness of his surroundings and struck an employee, hitting his legs with the forks. As a result of the impact, the employee lost his balance, fell, and struck his head against the forklift’s mast.
1. Always watch the direction you are traveling in, and if you need to perform a maneuver, such as turning, make sure it is safe to do so.
2. Use your horn to warn your coworkers of your presence, then slow down and wait for their reaction.
3. Remember the principle of limited trust - that is:
Do not assume that a pedestrian will see/hear the cart and move out of the way, so stop and make sure they see/hear you.
