Conveyor line workstation in the PTL department

118.

Get ready for work—you must wear:

  • a work shirt and pants,
  • work shoes with composite toe caps,
  • work gloves.

Before you start work, remember that you must:

  • Complete health and safety training and on-the-job training,
  • Have no health contraindications to performing the work.
  • Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines and equipment used at your workplace.

Before starting work:

  • Visually check the technical condition of the workplace: conveyor belt components, manual pallet truck, work table and its equipment, and electrical insulation mats.
  • Visually check the condition of the insulation of wires and cables, plugs, switches, and sockets.
  • Report any faults, damage, or deficiencies to your supervisor.
  • Check where the nearest emergency stop buttons for the conveyor belt are located.

During work:

  • Bring the pallet with goods (cardboard box/pallet box) using a manual pallet truck, following the manual transport standards.

  • Place the pallet next to the workstation, keeping escape routes and access to fire-fighting equipment clear.
  • Stand with both feet on an insulating mat when using electrical equipment (scanner, computer).
  • Maintain an upright posture, avoid prolonged slouching, and position tools and materials so that you do not have to twist your torso.
  • Remove goods one at a time, holding them with both hands and exercising caution.
  • Scan the item and enter the goods into the computer program.
  • Place the goods in the correct place (in the green pallet box on the conveyor belt or return them to the pallet).
  • If the goods are damaged, return them to the place from which the pallet with the goods was taken.
  • Keep containers away from electrical cables at all times.
  • Keep the floor clean and dry (do not allow wet, uneven, slippery, or contaminated surfaces).
  • Focus only on the tasks you are performing, and ensure your own safety and that of your surroundings.
  • Withdraw faulty conveyor belt parts from use, clearly mark them with information signs, and secure them to prevent the machine from starting.

After finishing work:

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Put your work tools back in their designated place.
  • Tidy up your workstation.

What is NOT ALLOWED?

  • Repair or upgrade equipment and workstations.
  • Do not touch damaged cable insulation or electrical installations.
  • Restart machines or equipment before the damage has been repaired.
  • Remove covers and safety devices from equipment.
  • Allow unauthorized persons to work.
  • Walk over or under conveyor belts.

Failure or accident?

  • If something breaks down, report the fault to your supervisor immediately.
  • If an accident has occurred, do not touch anything and inform your supervisor.
  • Make sure that there are NO containers on the scale during an emergency stop.
  • In an emergency, turn off the conveyor belt using the STOP buttons.
  • In the event of an accident, provide first aid to the injured person and call the emergency services if necessary.
