After finishing work:

  • Close the chute opening.

  • Make sure that the chute area is secured so that it does not pose a threat to the surroundings.

What should you NOT do?

  • Enter the chute.
  • Throw pallets and other warehouse equipment into the chute.
  • Allow untrained persons to work.
  • Repair the chute yourself.

Failure or accident?

  • If something breaks down, secure the chute against further use and report the fault to your supervisor.
  • If an accident has occurred, do not touch anything and inform your supervisor.
  • Hang a sign on the damaged chute saying: "CHUTE UNDER REPAIR – DO NOT USE."
