Before you start work, remember that you must:
- Complete health and safety training and on-the-job training.
- Have no health contraindications to performing the work.
- Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines and equipment used at your workplace.
Before starting the press container:
- Prepare the waste you want to dispose of in the chute.
- Check that the chute structure is not damaged.
- Make sure that the materials you want to dispose of are not too large.
- Check that the guards are in place.

During operation:
- If the green LED is lit, you can start working.
- When disposing of waste, make sure that none of your clothing is caught on the waste being disposed of.
- When disposing of waste into the chute, do not lean over the railing or the chute inlet.

After finishing work:
- Close the chute opening.
- Clean up the work area.
- Make sure that the chute area is secured so that it does not pose a threat to the surroundings.

What should you NOT do?
- Dispose of waste that is too large.
- Dispose of waste when the red LED is lit.
- Enter the chute.
- Throw pallets and other warehouse equipment into the chute.
- Allow untrained persons to work.
- Repair the chute yourself.

Failure or accident?
- If something breaks down, secure the chute against further use and report the fault to your supervisor.
- If an accident has occurred, do not touch anything and inform your supervisor.
- Hang a sign on the damaged chute saying: "CHUTE UNDER REPAIR – DO NOT USE."
