Get ready for work—you must wear:

  • a work shirt and pants,
  • work shoes with composite toe caps,
  • work gloves,
  • a safety helmet.

Before you start work, remember that you must:

  • Complete health and safety training and on-the-job training.
  • Have no health contraindications to performing the work.
  • Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines, equipment, and tools used in the workplace.

Before starting work:

  • Make sure that the work area is safe and that there are no bystanders in it.
  • Check the technical condition of the means of transport and pallets used for transport.
  • If you find any faults, report them to your supervisor.
  • Prepare your workplace for the task.

During work:

  • If you are a forklift operator:
    • Position yourself as close as possible to the entrance to the channel.
    • Lift the pallet to the height required to place it on the rack rollers.
    • Place the pallet on the rack. Before reversing, check that the pallet is completely on the rack and does not protrude.
    • Reverse the forks without catching them on the rollers or the pallet.
    • The pallet will automatically move to the back of the rack.

  • If you are a warehouse worker:
    • Pick up the pallet if it is stuck at the end of the rollers or press the safety pedal to move the pallet to the unloading area.
    • Remove the pallet with a hand pallet truck and place it in the storage area.

After finishing work:

  • Make sure that the pallet you are storing does not pose a hazard to the surrounding area.
  • Return the truck to its designated storage area. In the case of an electric truck, take the card/keys with you.
  • Clean up the work area.

What NOT to do?

  • Climb on roller racks!
  • Move around in the truck's working area and directly under the gate and rollers!
  • Use damaged pallets or pallet trucks/forklifts.
  • Transport unsecured or poorly secured pallets.
  • Move electric trucks without the required qualifications.
  • Use electric trucks to collect pallets from roller racks.
  • Climb onto pallets.
  • Use equipment for purposes other than those for which it is intended.

Breakdown or accident?

  • If something breaks down, remove the load manually (in accordance with standards), secure the pallet, notify the maintenance team to remove or repair the pallet, and report the fault to your supervisor.
  • If something breaks, put the damaged tool away and report the fault to your supervisor.
  • If an accident has occurred, do not move anything and inform your supervisor.
  • Hang a sign on the damaged tool saying: "DEVICE DAMAGED - DO NOT USE."
  • In the event of an accident, immediately administer first aid to the injured person and call the emergency services if necessary.
