Get ready for work—you must wear:

  • a work shirt and pants,
  • work shoes with composite toe caps,
  • work gloves.

Before you start work, remember that you must:

  • Complete health and safety and fire safety training, as well as on-the-job training.
  • Have no health contraindications to performing the work.
  • Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines and equipment used at your workplace.

Before starting work

  • Check the technical condition of the container: wheels, brakes, handles, stability.
  • Report any faults to your supervisor.
  • Use the container only inside the building, on hard and level ground.

During work:

  • Be careful when driving, especially in gates and areas with limited visibility.
  • Check the stability of the load.
  • Lock the wheels with brakes before loading/unloading.
  • Be aware of the risk of trapping your hands on the side walls and brake.
  • Load the container evenly: heavy items at the bottom, light items at the top.
  • Secure the load with straps.
  • Push or pull the container only by the handles and only on level ground.
  • Pulling several coupled containers – only by trained personnel.

After finishing work:

  • Return the container to its designated place.
  • Secure it with a brake.
  • Make sure that the workplace does not pose any hazards.

What is NOT ALLOWED?

  • Use damaged containers.
  • Transport people or ride on the container.
  • Leave the container on escape routes or slopes.
  • Work on ramps and edges where there is a risk of falling.
  •  Drive the container onto ramps in a folded state.
  • Climb on top of or inside the container.

Breakdown or accident?

  • If something breaks down, secure the container against further use and report the fault to your supervisor.
  • If an accident has occurred, do not move anything and inform your supervisor.
  • Hang a sign on the damaged container saying: "CONTAINER UNDER REPAIR – DO NOT USE."
