Pallet management and handling of non-compliant pallets
Before starting work:
Read this manual and complete on-the-job training.
Always wear protective gloves and work clothes.
Make sure you have sufficient space to work.
Check each pallet before loading – pay attention to: welds, supports, pins, cups, and arms.
Do not use damaged or incomplete pallets.
During work:
Be careful when moving and stacking pallets – they are heavy and large.
Stabilize the load with additional straps or chains.
Correct the position of beams and structural elements if they are misaligned.
Do not move the securing elements when the pallet is loaded.
Do not transport people on pallets or climb on stacks.
Handling damaged pallets
If you notice damage, do not use the pallet.
Mark it with a label: "TO BE REPAIRED" or "TO BE DISPOSED OF."
Set aside:
"FOR REPAIR" pallets to the designated area in the warehouse, marked with red and white tape,
pallets marked "FOR DISPOSAL" – to the outdoor area, where they are stored outside the building in a designated area marked with a sign saying "No removal – Pallets for disposal."
Do not repair pallets yourself.
Report damage to your supervisor or the maintenance department.
After finishing work:
Clean up the workstation.
Place pallets and accessories in the designated area.
Secure stacks against tipping over.
Report any dangerous situations or accidents.
If you have any doubts about safety, stop working and inform your supervisor.
What is NOT allowed?
Load goods onto damaged pallets.
Stack pallets of different sizes or above the permissible height.
Overload pallets beyond the value specified in the technical documentation,
Repair or modify pallets yourself,
Remove safety devices and use non-original pins,
Staying or eating meals in the work area, smoking, and drinking alcohol.
Failure or accident?
Report any damage or irregularities to your supervisor.
Do not use the pallet until it has been checked.
Put it in the appropriate area and mark it.
In the event of an accident, do not change anything at the scene without your supervisor's consent.
