Before you start working, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Complete health and safety training and on-the-job training.
- Have no health contraindications to performing the work.
- Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines and equipment used at the workplace.
Before starting work:
- Check that the tape fits the device.
- Make sure the battery is charged and inserted into the strapping machine.
- Set the appropriate operating mode, tension force, and binding time.
- Report any faults or deficiencies to your supervisor.
During operation:
- Wrap the tape around the packaged goods.
- Operate the device in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Keep your workstation tidy and clean.
- Use only tools and equipment that are in good working order.
- Wear safety glasses while working.
- Do not put your hands between the tape and the goods during binding – there is a risk of jamming and crushing!
After finishing work:
- Check that the device does not pose a hazard.
- Put tools and components back in their designated places.
- Clean up your workstation.
What should NOT be done?
- Modify plugs or use adapters.
- Touch moving parts of the device.
- Point the strapping tool at people or animals,
- Use the device in areas where there is a risk of explosion,
- Work on unstable surfaces,
- Clean the device with water or steam,
- Expose the strapping machine to rain or moisture.
Malfunction or accident?
- If something breaks down, turn off the device, secure it against restarting, and report the malfunction to your supervisor.
- If an accident has occurred, do not move anything and inform your supervisor.
- In the event of an accident, immediately administer first aid to the injured person and call the emergency services if necessary.
- Hang a sign on the damaged device: "DEVICE UNDER REPAIR - DO NOT USE."
