Before you start work, remember that you must:
- Complete health and safety training and on-the-job training.
- Have no health contraindications to performing the work.
- Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines and equipment used at your workplace.
Before starting work:
- Visually check the technical condition of the equipment and report any faults to your supervisor.
- Adjust the workstation to suit the job (good lighting and sufficient space to perform the work).
- Prepare the equipment and personal protective equipment necessary for work and to maintain order in the workplace.
- Before inserting the battery, check that the switch is in the off position.
- Ensure that the workplace does not pose a hazard.
- Check the sharpness of the blades.
During work:
- Hold the shears by the insulated handles during operation to protect yourself from accidental electric shock when the blades come into contact with electrical installations.
- Keep the guards and safety features in good working order; report any damaged parts to an authorized person for repair.
- Hold the tool firmly and steadily.
- Work in a stable position while maintaining your balance.
- Protect the battery from falls and impacts.
- Keep your work area tidy and organized.
After finishing work:
- Turn off the shears.
- Clean the shears and tidy up your work area.
- Place the battery in the charger to recharge it.
What NOT to do:
- Use improper or damaged tools.
- Remove covers and safety devices.
- Cut materials that are not compatible with the device's operating instructions.
- Work with a blunt tool.
- Use the device in potentially explosive environments, e.g., near flammable liquids or gases.
- Pull the plug out of the socket or pull on the charger's power cord while charging the battery.
- Use a damaged battery.
- Recharge a fully charged battery (this shortens its service life).
Malfunction or accident:
- If something breaks, set the damaged device aside and report the fault to your supervisor.
- If an accident has occurred, do not move anything and inform your supervisor.
- In the event of a malfunction that poses a threat to the environment, switch off the device immediately and warn your colleagues in a clear manner.
- In the event of an accident, immediately provide first aid to the injured person and call the emergency services if necessary.
