Get ready for work—you must wear:

  • A work shirt and pants,
  • Work shoes with composite toe caps,
  • Safety glasses,
  • Nitrile gloves.

Before you start work, remember that you must:

  • Complete health and safety training and on-the-job training.
  • Have no health contraindications to performing the work.
  • Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines and equipment used at your workplace. 

Before starting work:

  • Check the level of the calibration fluid and top up if necessary.
  • Put on all necessary personal protective equipment. 
  • Check the technical condition of the equipment you will be using. 

During work:

  • Connect the necessary hoses to the pump; do not start the device before connecting them (this may result in a leak of pressurized substances). 
  • Connect the power clamps to the hoses, remembering to connect "+" to "+" and "-" to "-". 

  • Perform the test in accordance with the parameters of the pump being tested and the operating instructions, setting them using the knobs.
  • Turn on the device using the knob. 

After completing the test:

  • After completing the test, disconnect the clamps and then the cables from the pump being tested.
  • Tidy up the workstation.
  • Make sure that there are no wet spots anywhere due to spilled calibration fluid. 

What NOT to do?

  • Allow unauthorized persons to work.
  • Work with damaged equipment.
  • Modify or repair equipment yourself. 
  • Use the device for purposes other than those for which it is intended.
  • Paint over or remove safety signs. 

Failure or accident?

  • If something breaks, stop using the equipment and report the fault to your supervisor.
  • If an accident has occurred, do not move anything and inform your supervisor.
  • Hang a sign saying "OUT OF SERVICE" on the damaged workstation.
  • In the event of an accident, immediately administer first aid to the injured person and, if necessary, call the emergency services.
