Before you start work, remember that you must:
- Complete health and safety training and on-the-job training,
- Have no health contraindications to performing the work.
- Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines and equipment used at your workplace.
Before starting work:
- Check the technical condition of the heat gun.
- Remove unnecessary objects from the surrounding area.
- Ensure good lighting.
- Make sure that your work does not pose a threat to others.
During work:
- Use the heat gun according to the instructions.
- Stay organized and focused.
- Be especially careful with flammable materials.
- Set the correct temperature.
- Direct the air stream only at the selected element.
- Ensure good ventilation.
- Do not allow the removed material to accumulate near the nozzle – it may ignite.
After finishing work:
- Place the heat gun on its stand and wait for it to cool down.
- Clean the work area and the device according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Store the tool in a designated place (e.g., a box).
What NOT to do?
- Allow unauthorized persons to work.
- Work under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications that impair concentration.
- Repair or modify the equipment yourself.
- Use faulty or unsuitable equipment.
- Direct hot air at people, glass, or in explosive areas.
- Cover the air inlet/outlet.
- Touch the hot nozzle (it remains hot for up to 30 minutes after switching off).
- Rest the nozzle against objects during and after operation.
- Insert objects into the nozzle.
- Look inside the nozzle during operation.
Malfunction or accident?
- If something breaks down, turn off the device, secure it against restarting, and report the malfunction to your supervisor.
- If an accident has occurred, do not move anything and inform your supervisor.
- In the event of an accident, immediately administer first aid to the injured person and call the emergency services if necessary.
- Hang a sign on the damaged device saying: "DEVICE UNDER REPAIR – DO NOT USE."
