Get ready for work – you must wear:

  • a work shirt and pants,
  • work shoes with composite toe caps,
  • work gloves,
  • safety glasses.

Before you start work, remember that you must:

  • Complete health and safety training and on-the-job training.
  • Have no health contraindications to performing the work.
  • Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines and equipment used at your workplace.

Before starting work with a manual pneumatic stapler:

  • Prepare auxiliary equipment for storing materials, instruments, tools, and waste.
  • Put on the required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses.
  • Plan the sequence of operations.
  • Check the technical condition of the stapler, safety devices, and the tightness of screws and nuts.
  • Connect the stapler to the hoses and check for leaks.
  • Perform a test run and check that the stapler is working properly.
  • Report any faults you notice immediately to your supervisor.

During work:

  • Keep your workplace tidy, do not scatter tools and items intended for processing or already processed.
  • Arrange the materials to be stapled in a stable manner.
  • Use staples that are appropriately sized for the material being stapled.
  • Gradually remove unnecessary materials.

After finishing work:

  • Turn off the device.
  • Clean up the work area.
  • Clean the device according to the manufacturer's instructions. Before cleaning, unplug the device and use only a soft cloth with a mild soap and water solution.
  • Make sure that the device does not pose a hazard to the environment.

What NOT to do:

  • Remove the covers and safety devices from the pneumatic stapler.
  • Point the stapler toward yourself or others.
  • Hold the stapler by any part other than the handle.
  • Carry the stapler while it is connected, e.g., on a belt (close to the body).
  • Shoot into thin elements (possibility of puncture).
  • Use the stapler in areas where there is a risk of explosion.
  • Work with the stapler on unstable surfaces.
  • Shoot staples into the air.
  • Use the stapler without staples – empty shot.
  • Use gasoline or other flammable liquids for cleaning.
  • Exceed the maximum allowable pressure.
  • Press the trigger while carrying the stapler; never carry the stapler by the cord or use it to move the device.
  • Place your hands or other body parts in the stapling path.

Malfunction or accident?

  • If something breaks, disconnect the stapler from the power supply, secure it against restarting, and report the fault to your supervisor.
  • If an accident has occurred, do not touch anything and inform your supervisor.
  • Hang a sign on the damaged device saying: "DEVICE UNDER REPAIR – DO NOT TURN ON."
