Get ready for work—you must wear:

  • A work shirt and pants,
  • Work shoes with composite toe caps,
  • Protective gloves.

Before you start work, remember that you must:

  • Complete health and safety training and on-the-job training.
  • Have no health contraindications to performing the work. 
  • Be familiar with the operating instructions for the machines and equipment used at your workplace.

Before starting work: 

  • Read the instructions and put on personal protective equipment. 
  • Visually check the technical condition of the equipment.
  • Adjust the lighting and amount of space to allow for comfortable and safe work. 
  • Wipe the upper surface of the screw and the upper and lower end surfaces of the work table. 

During work:

  • Observe the operation of the device, take into account the conditions for safe work for yourself and the environment. 
  • Observe the specified permissible measurement and load ranges. 
  • Keep your workplace tidy and organized. 
  • Keep the measuring device clean and in good working order. 

After finishing work:

  • Turn off the device. 
  • Clean up the workstation. 
  • Inform your supervisor or replacement about the technical condition of the hardness tester. 

What should NOT be done?

  • Allow unauthorized persons to operate the device.
  • Work with damaged equipment.
  • Modify or repair the device yourself. 
  • Use the device for purposes other than those for which it is intended.
  • Paint over or remove safety labels. 

Malfunction or accident?

  • If something breaks, stop using the device and report the fault to your supervisor.
  • If an accident has occurred, do not touch anything and inform your supervisor.
  • Hang a sign saying "OUT OF SERVICE" on the damaged workstation.
  • In the event of an accident, immediately administer first aid to the injured person and, if necessary, call the emergency services.
