Work performed regularly outside the workplace

111..

Before you start working, remember:

  • Only work remotely if you have been designated to do so by your employer.
  • Make sure you have the appropriate qualifications, up-to-date health and safety training, and medical examinations.
  • Confirm that you have read the occupational risk assessment and these instructions.
  • Pregnant women may not work at a computer for more than 8 hours a day – after 50 minutes of work, a 10-minute break must be taken.

BEFORE STARTING WORK:

  • Check that your workstation meets safety and ergonomic requirements (according to the checklist).
  • If any requirement is not met, do not start work.
  • Ensure adequate lighting (natural or artificial), avoid reflections and glare on the screen.
  • Check the condition of wires and cables—they must not be damaged or tangled.

WHILE WORKING:

  • Work in a comfortable, ergonomic position—back straight, legs supported, wrists supported.
  • Maintain a room temperature of at least +18°C.
  • Take a 5-minute break after every hour of working at the computer.
  • Keep your desk and work area tidy.
  • If recommended by your doctor, wear corrective glasses.
  • Change your position and the type of tasks you perform to avoid strain.
  • Do not allow other people to work on your equipment.

AFTER FINISHING WORK:

  • Disconnect the equipment from the power supply.
  • Tidy up your workstation.
  • Secure equipment and documents against unauthorized access.

WHAT NOT TO DO:

  • Use faulty equipment.
  • Use exercise balls as chairs.
  • Clean equipment without disconnecting it from the power supply.
  • Repair equipment yourself.
  • Change workstation equipment without the employer's consent.
  • Keep drinks and food near electrical equipment.
  • Perform activities unrelated to work.
  • Perform particularly dangerous work (at heights, with chemicals, biological or radioactive agents, causing contamination, etc.).

REMEMBER:

  • Work that does not comply with these instructions is not permitted and is treated as a serious breach of employee duties, which may result in disciplinary action.

FAILURE OR ACCIDENT:

  • Report any equipment failures or malfunctions to your supervisor and the IT department.
  • In the event of an accident while working remotely, immediately inform your supervisor.
  • The accident site will be inspected at an agreed time – do not change its condition.
  • If the accident is clear-cut, the employer may waive the inspection.
  • In case of fire, gas leak, or other hazard:
    • Call 112 or 998,
    • Notify your supervisor,
    • Leave the room until the hazard is removed.
